Wowza
A couple of weeks ago, I got a great opportunity. I was invited to be interviewed on Orange TV, a local television station that help promotes art and artists. I had a bunch of fun, met some really nice people and now I can’t watch. But if you want to, you can: http://www.orangetvfl.net/
Here’s some of the art that was featured on the show:
Audubon Center for Birds of Prey
Have you been to the Audubon Center in Maitland (or your city)? I take my kids occasionally, and it’s always a wonderful experience. The commitment that the staff and volunteers have for the birds is remarkable. We are always in awe of the peaceful sanctuary that has been created on behalf of these majestic creatures. Even the vultures are beautiful.
One of the paintings I did for the Maitland History show, is in honor of the Center:
A Thursday in June
Not the Third Thursday, however. That was last week. I know because I was at an event in Thornton Park for the monthly Third Thursday Art Walk. I was invited by the delightful “Lambs Eat Ivy” salon, to show my work inside and out.
Here are a few photos from the evening:
Doodles and doing
I’ve been doodling and trying to get art up (doing) in Orlando. I have doodles up in the Apopka Library at the moment. Also, the show at the Maitland History Museum will be up until November (http://www.maitlandhistory.org/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=5:maitland-historical-museum&Itemid=134). Today I visited a little charming shop “Lambs Eat Ivy” in Thorton Park. (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Lambs-Eat-Ivy-Salon/53351852891). They have offered to hang doodles in the month of July, which I am tickled about. More on that later.
I’ve started a new book, all about the antics of my cat Yum Yum, who is full of more mischief than any cat should be.
There are more installments to come, based on Yum Yum’s misfortunes.
I did a portrait of my mom, when she was little, as a Mother’s Day tribute:
My Little mom will actually be on a sticker soon, which I’ll share as soon as I get a hold of one.
Today’s doodle is a tribute to “Moonstruck”, one of my favorite movies.
